Today, 17 October 2025, at ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ โ ๐๐๐, we celebrate FoodDay with our survivor women, girls, and kids. The kids participated in a fun and educational quiz to learn about the importance of a BalancedDiet. Along with exciting games, the day was filled with laughter and learning!

Gender-Sensitive Legal Training for Lawyers in Charsadda

Medical Support for Women Survivors
On 9 October 2025, ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ซ โ ๐๐๐, in collaborationย with ๐๐๐ค๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ง ๐๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง (๐๐๐๐),ย organized the first dedicated medical check-up session for women survivors residing at the shelter.
This initial session focused on gynecological health, providing essential care and consultations in a safe and confidential environment. A qualified gynecologist conducted check-ups, addressing both preventive and ongoing health concerns.

MOU Between PEDO and Mera Ghar - NET
We are pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Pakistan Empowerment and Development Organization (PEDO) and Mera Ghar – NET, Peshawar.
This partnership marks a collaborative effort to implement the WISH โ Womenโs Integrated Support for Health and Well-being project, focusing on the empowerment, health, and dignity of Afghan refugee and host community women survivors of gender-based violence (GBV). The project will be implemented over a three-month period, from 8 August 2025 to 8 November 2025, and will be carried out at Mera Ghar – NET, Peshawar, serving as the primary facilitation venue for all planned activities.
Project Highlights Include:
6 free medical camps (general and gynecology)
4 SRHR awareness sessions
Distribution of dignity kits
One-on-one mental health counseling
Branding and visibility initiatives
Launch of an official PEDO project website
Under this MoU:
PEDO will serve as the implementing partner, mobilizing resources and delivering key services.

Mera Ghar GBV Legal Services โ Quarterly Review
On 2nd September 2025, Noor Education Trust (NET) conducted an online quarterly coordination meeting with referral partners accessing the legal services of Mera Ghar, a shelter and support facility for women survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
The primary objective of the meeting was to strengthen referral pathways and enhance coordination mechanisms among key stakeholders working to provide timely and survivor-centered legal support to women affected by GBV across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting brought together representatives from key partner organizations, includingย UNHCR โ The UN Refugee Agency, National Commission for Human Rights Pakistan (NCHR), Sustainable Peace and Development Organization (SPADO), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP), Society for Human Rights and Prisonersโ Aid (SHARP), Association for Behaviour and Knowledge Transformation (ABKT), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW), and the Directorate of Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment, Government of KP.
This collaborative engagement highlights the continued commitment of both governmental and non-governmental partners to enhancing protection services, legal aid, and empowerment of GBV survivors in the region.

Strengthening GBV RESPONSE: unhcr at mera ghar
The GBV Officer (COI), Ms. Chao Wu, from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency Islamabad, along with the UNHCR Peshawar team, visited Mera Ghar for a briefing session on the joint collaboration between Mera Ghar-NET, andย Sustainable Peace and Development Organization (SPADO).ย
This partnership focuses on providing comprehensive support and protection services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).
The visit highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts to ensure safety, dignity, and empowerment for GBV survivors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.ย
Noor Education Trust NET organized Survey/Meeting in the 5 selected UCs of Peshawar on 29th November 2019. The Survey/Meeting with the community Activist to sensitize them about Gender-Based Violence, develop linkages and strengthen the referral mechanism.
Representatives from the Ministry of Information, PTA, FIA, Police, National Police Bureau, Planning Commission SDGs Unit, Ministry of Human Rights, Parliamentary Reporters Association PRA, Press Information Department, and Civil Society were also part of the discussion.

Noor Education Trust is celebrating 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. It is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the international day for the elimination of violence against women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.
Consultative workshop organized by NET,with Departments of Psychology and Law colleges on subject of “sustainability of psycho social and legal aid services” on dated: 31st Oct, 2019. The workshop was very successful, Soon these two stakeholders will sign a proper MOU on the said subject.

Noor Education Trust had conducted a training seminar on District Legal Empowerment Committee (DLEC) with lawyers in a collaboration with Peshawar Bar Association on 21 March 2018. The Honorableย District and Session Judge shared the current status and challenges of DLEC in Peshawar. The President Peshawar Bar requested the DSJ to call the committee meeting. Despite the challenges and budgetary issues we should conduct the monthly meeting. Looking forward to be a part of this meeting.

Noor Education Trust has conducted aย Consultative Workshop with the lawyers of nine districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat, Charsadda, Dir, Swat, Bannu on District Legal Empowerment Committees (DLEC). It was a diverse group and representatives of each district shared their learning, challenges and best practices.
Noor Education Trust conducted a consultative meeting with the Director General, Assistant DG, Deputy Director Development, Directors and Doctors of Health Department regarding GBV response program and the sustainability of NET program was held on Friday, 24th Nov 2017 in the conference room of Health department. NET shared their services, working experience with hospitals and medico legal services.
Noor Education Trust has organized a Donation Ceremony in Peshawar Bar Association on dated 2.11.2017 and donated persons with disabilities (PWDs) item for the accessability of old age and PWD clients.

Noor Education Trust has conducted one day training workshop with the lawyers of District Bar Association Peshawar on Case Management and Linkages with DLEC. As a result a group of ten lawyers formed who will further link the NET Legal Aid Services with District Legal Empower Committee and will also conduct a number of meetings with the Cabinet Members and Session Judge with the support of this group.

Noor Education Trust has conducted “Milad UN Nabi S.A.W” at “Mera Ghar” Shelter Home with GBV Survivors on 23 Dec, 2016.
One day Training workshop was organised for the Local Bodies Representatives of Peshawar District. The main purpose of this training was to promote the services of Noor Education Trust and to aware the participants on the Case Management and Referral. Total 39 participants of participated in this event.

Training with Pro-bono Lawyers:
2 trainings were conducted with pro-bono Lawyers from different district such as Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, Swat, Mardan, Charsadda, Shangla , Kohat , Karak and Haripur, Tangi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Overall objective of the trainings.
Trainings were organized for NET Pro-bono lawyers on capacity building and case management. The objective of the trainings workshop was to enhance the knowledge of Pro-bono lawyers on case management.
Noor Education Trust (NET) had conducted one day activity with Local Bodies Representative’s in a collaboration with Local Govt on Case Management and Referralย Mechanisam for the support of Gender Based Violence(GBV) survivors. Elected members of four Town’s (Town I,II,III,IV) actively participated in the activity. They shared field based experiences, cases which they handled in their communities. It was such a nice activity.

Noor Education Trust has conducted one day training with NET Pro-bono lawyers and partners on dated:6th January,2016 on โโGender Based Violence u0026amp; related Lawsโโ. Lawyers u0026amp; Partners from different district of KP have actively participated.
In this training, opportunity was also given to lawyers from Shangla and Swat. NET has extended its services to Shangla and Swat because previously in 2010, NET has worked with the IDPโs of Swat. These services included food and non food items, Shelter and Legal cases, Protection, Psycho-Social, Stipends Informal and Formal Education to Women and Children (Boys and Girls).
Lawyers and Partners shared their experiences and appreciated NET efforts and its support to GBV survivors and Children.
Celebrated โMEELADโ of the last Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) at Mera Ghar by the GBV survivors including NET staff and community on 31st December, 2015 with enthusiasm, dignity and worth.
