Noor Education Trust NET organized Survey/Meeting in the 5 selected UCs of Peshawar on 29th November 2019. The Survey/Meeting with the community Activist to sensitize them about Gender-Based Violence, develop linkages and strengthen the referral mechanism.
 
 

Noor Education Trust (NET) participated in the Consultation Meeting organized by #PJN about establishing Integrated Coordination, Reporting and Monitoring Mechanism on SDG Target 16.10 Freedom of Expression and Right to Access to Information at National Assembly Parliamentary SDGs Secretariat Office, 27th u0026amp; 28th November 2019 in collaboration with National Parliamentary Taskforce on SDGs, PCHR and UNESCO.
Representatives from the Ministry of Information, PTA, FIA, Police, National Police Bureau, Planning Commission SDGs Unit, Ministry of Human Rights, Parliamentary Reporters Association PRA, Press Information Department, and Civil Society were also part of the discussion.

Center for Research u0026amp; Security Studies (CRSS) invited Noor Education Trust NET to the Radio Pakistan. The representatives of the organization Advocate Mehwish Kakakhel u0026amp; Mujeeb-ur-Rehman talk about the services of NET “MERA GHAR Response Program” for the support survivors (women and children) of violence through safe shelter, psychological, medical and legal aid.


Noor Education Trust is celebrating 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. It is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the international day for the elimination of violence against women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

 
 
 
 

Consultative workshop organized by NET,with Departments of Psychology and Law colleges on subject of “sustainability of psycho social and legal aid services” on dated: 31st Oct, 2019. The workshop was very successful, Soon these two stakeholders will sign a proper MOU on the said subject.


Noor Education Trust has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Peshawar Bar Association for the support of GBV Survivors. Thanks to the cabinet members.


Noor Education Trust had conducted a training seminar on District Legal Empowerment Committee (DLEC) with lawyers in a collaboration with Peshawar Bar Association on 21 March 2018. The Honorable District and Session Judge shared the current status and challenges of DLEC in Peshawar. The President Peshawar Bar requested the DSJ to call the committee meeting. Despite the challenges and budgetary issues we should conduct the monthly meeting. Looking forward to be a part of this meeting.


Noor Education Trust has celebrated National Women’s Day with the lawyers of Peshawar Bar Association. A tribute was presented in the memory of Ms.Asma Jahangir. District and Session Judge was a Chief Guest. During the event shields were presented to the recognizing role models of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ms.Mah Talat, Ms. Parveen Akhtar and Ms.Surriya Mukhfi. A joint venture of Noor Education Trust and  Peshawar Bar Association conducted today for the up-gradation of Peshawar Bar Library. In the event a books shelf Inaugurated by Chief Guest District and Session Judge Mr. Anwar Ali Khan. NET (BOT members) Rukhshanda Naz and Arshad Haroon presented the shields to the Chief Guest, President, Ex.President u0026amp; General Secretary.


Noor Education Trust has conducted a seminar on “Cyber Harassment Blackmailing its effects on Women and Girls and Legal Remedies” in a collaboration with Criminology department (UOP) with the students of Sociology and Criminology department Peshawar University. Mr. Azhar Khan a senior advocate Peshawar High Court was a speaker and Dr.Basharat Hussain Chairman Criminology department participated as a Chief guest


Noor Education Trust has conducted a  Consultative Workshop with the lawyers of nine districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa such as Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat, Charsadda, Dir, Swat, Bannu on District Legal Empowerment Committees (DLEC). It was a diverse group and representatives of each district shared their learning, challenges and best practices.


Noor Education Trust conducted a consultative meeting with the Director General, Assistant DG, Deputy Director Development, Directors and Doctors of Health Department regarding GBV response program and the sustainability of NET program was held on Friday, 24th Nov 2017 in the conference room of Health department. NET shared their services, working experience with hospitals and medico legal services.


Noor Education Trust has organized a Donation Ceremony in Peshawar Bar Association on dated 2.11.2017 and donated persons with disabilities (PWDs) item for the accessability of old age and PWD clients.


Noor Education Trust has conducted one day training with the lawyers of Peshawar Bar Association on Case Management and Referral Mechanism. A detail discussion was also generated about District Legal Empowerment Committees (DLEC).

Noor Education Trust has conducted one day training workshop with the lawyers of District Bar Association Peshawar on Case Management and Linkages with DLEC. As a result a group of ten lawyers formed who will further link the NET Legal Aid Services with District Legal Empower Committee and will also conduct a number of meetings with the Cabinet Members and Session Judge with the support of this group.

Noor Education Trust has conducted “Milad UN Nabi S.A.W” at “Mera Ghar” Shelter Home with GBV Survivors on 23 Dec, 2016.


One day Training workshop was organised for the Local Bodies Representatives of Peshawar District. The main purpose of this training was to promote the services of Noor Education Trust and to aware the participants on the Case Management and Referral. Total 39 participants of participated in this event.

Feedback / Comments from the Local Bodies Representatives
• Case management and referral mechanism is more relevant to our field, because people come to us with their domestic issues.
• They shared that “we will arrange women gathering in the community and you people should come, they will directly share their issues with you people”.
• One of the participants shared that “I have seen Swara case, but at that time, I was not aware that it’s against the law. But in future I will take quick action in Swara cases.
• One participant shared that “we have 5 cases in our community; they will call you for services”.
• They appreciated NET services and suggested that you people should deliver sessions at community level.


Training with Pro-bono Lawyers:
2 trainings were conducted with pro-bono Lawyers from different district such as Peshawar, Nowshera, Swabi, Swat, Mardan, Charsadda, Shangla , Kohat , Karak and Haripur, Tangi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Overall objective of the trainings.
Trainings were organized for NET Pro-bono lawyers on capacity building and case management. The objective of the trainings workshop was to enhance the knowledge of Pro-bono lawyers on case management.

Noor Education Trust (NET) had conducted one day activity with Local Bodies Representative’s in a collaboration with Local Govt on Case Management and Referral Mechanisam for the support of Gender Based Violence(GBV) survivors. Elected members of four Town’s (Town I,II,III,IV) actively participated in the activity. They shared field based experiences, cases which they handled in their communities. It was such a nice activity.

A civil society organization,  Noor Education Trust (NET), on Friday shared  with the participants of a seminar the findings of a study in an effort to  pinpoint the flaws in the medico-legal services focusing on forensic work, role of medical staff, police and legal system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
 
The civil society organization had organized the “Research study seminar” to disseminate the Medico-Legal Research findings in collaboration with the Provincial Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW).
 
Officials from government departments and non-governmental organizations attended the event.
 
Zubaida Noor introduced the NET and basis of medico-legal study.
 
She said the need for medico-legal evidence was more obvious and important in cases of domestic violence, rape and sexual assault where the process of justice was totally dependent on the medico-legal record.
 
Sabahat Mushtaq, a legal associate at the NET, shared with participants the findings of the research study along with the recommendations. She said the medical evidence was often an essential element in the investigation and prosecution process of violence.
 
The legal associate said the NET was involved with the process of establishing a referral mechanism with other stakeholders directly and indirectly to facilitate the process of medico-legal services provided by government-run facilities as per the requirement of survivors.
 
Provincial Commission on the Status of Women Chairperson Neelum Toru appreciated the efforts of the NET and its seriousness towards medico-legal issues.
 
She suggested that a formal delegation with representatives from government and NGOs should be formed to share these findings with Health Ministry for further action.

NET arranged an exhibition and displayed different stalls of handicraft, antique jewelry, food, unstitched branded shirts u0026amp; suits, food items and ready-made shirts prepared by GBV survivors and skilled women at community level.

Noor Education Trust has conducted one day training with NET Pro-bono lawyers and partners on dated:6th January,2016 on ‘’Gender Based Violence u0026amp; related Laws’’. Lawyers u0026amp; Partners from different district of KP have actively participated.

In this training, opportunity was also given to lawyers from Shangla and Swat. NET has extended its services to Shangla and Swat because previously in 2010, NET has worked with the IDP’s of Swat. These services included food and non food items, Shelter and Legal cases, Protection, Psycho-Social, Stipends Informal and Formal Education to Women and Children (Boys and Girls).

Lawyers and Partners shared their experiences and appreciated NET efforts and its support to GBV survivors and Children.

Celebrated “MEELAD” of the last Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) at Mera Ghar by the GBV survivors including NET staff and community on 31st December, 2015 with enthusiasm, dignity and worth. The Purpose of the activity was to understand the last message of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) and be self-aware to refrain from sins and to help each other in a way where there is no violence.

Highlights of the event are Vigil Candle “Voice for Peace”, Purpose of painting competition is to portrait the experiences of survivors in positive prediction of their future that focused on their inner strength/ Struggle for achievement of fundamental Human Rights.
