Advancing Rights & Inclusion in Bara, Khyber
Strengthening Community Voices through Dialogue, Inclusion and Access
A meaningful State–Civil Society Dialogue was held in Bara, Khyber, under the Right-Based Community Stabilization Project in Merged Khyber Districts, a collaborative initiative of the Social Welfare Department, UNDP, and UNDP Pakistan. The dialogue brought together community members, women, civil society representatives and relevant government departments to discuss key community needs and access to essential public services, including education, healthcare, access to clean drinking water, NADRA and CNIC registration, and access to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and other social protection services.
Ms. Rukhshanda Naz, Managing Trustee of Mera Ghar – NET / Co-Chair, Women Advisory Group for District Khyber, was invited to participate in the dialogue. In her capacity as Co-Chair, she presided over the session and contributed to meaningful engagement between community representatives, civil society and state institutions, ensuring that the voices, concerns and priorities of women and local communities remained part of the discussion.
The dialogue highlighted the importance of community participation, women’s leadership and accessible public services in advancing rights-based community stabilization. Mera Ghar – NET remains committed to supporting inclusive platforms where communities can engage with institutions, raise their concerns and contribute to solutions that strengthen rights, dignity, resilience and sustainable community development.
