Strengthening Legal Aid Through Collaboration, Coordination & Collective Action
Mera Ghar – NET held a productive meeting with its Pro Bono Lawyers Network at the District Courts, attended by Ms. Rukhsanda Naz, Founding Trustee of Mera Ghar – NET, along with all members of the Mera Ghar – NET Legal Aid Committee. The meeting focused on reviewing ongoing legal aid cases and strengthening strategic coordination to ensure effective access to justice for women survivors of violence. Detailed discussions were held on cases referred to the Pro Bono Lawyers Network from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other areas, providing an opportunity to assess case progress, identify challenges, and explore practical solutions.
Participants deliberated on strengthening existing legal mechanisms, improving case management and referral procedures, addressing barriers encountered during legal proceedings, and enhancing collaboration to ensure timely, effective, and survivor-centred legal assistance. The discussion reaffirmed the importance of collective responsibility, professional commitment, and coordinated efforts in advancing justice and protecting the rights and dignity of women survivors of violence.
At Mera Ghar – NET, we believe that access to justice must go beyond legal representation. It requires commitment, collaboration, and a collective determination to ensure that every woman survivor has a voice, every case receives attention, and every individual has an opportunity to seek justice. Together, we continue working towards a more accessible, responsive, and survivor-centred justice system.
